This should be standard in podcast apps, ipods, and mp3 players like the kind Sansa makes. Once you switch to listening to audio at an increased tempo it is difficult to go back to the chipmunk voices. It's also nice you can set up the player to easily go back 30 seconds or whatever you like in case you think you misheard something in an interview or want to write down the name of a book mentioned or something. A portable version can be found here: Speed settings are under the 'Play' menu. When listening to audiobooks or podcasts on the computer, I use SMplayer which changes the tempo of the audio when you increase speed, unlike most other media players I've tried. My personal preference is 1.2x for complex material and 1.4x when it is more for entertainment, 1.5x is just a bit too fast for me to keep up with, but I am usually playing games or browsing while listening to podcasts. This makes it seem as though the person is using a normal voice but speaking much faster. What you really want to do is increase the tempo, this keeps the pitch the same but just speeds up the. Increasing speed makes the chipmunk voices. Example: Hello.Įxplanation of our link flairs Join our /r/bookclub Don't forget /new!
